hello i'm rachel. i have two horses of my own, a paint and an appaloosa. i try to live as simple a life as possible. i live out in the boonies and love it. i enjoy riding and reading and spending time with my family. i sincerely believe that you need to love yourself if you expect anyone else to love you. i'm outgoing and friendly, and i will always try my hardest to be there whenever i can. i won't try to change you if you don't try to change me

first off, there have been a lot of new favorites and watches and i want to thank everyone who has added my stock to their collections, used my stock, or added me to their watch (or in some cases, all three!!). i am so very appreciative of it!
i do have a quite a bit of stock photos to upload, but i have been so freaking busy this year.
it all started back in april when my older mare had choke while i was in new mexico riding endurance horses. i came back four days early when my husband called and told me that. and then after the choke episode, her tongue swelled up. and it became a full time job feeding her four soupy mashes every day. then she got better, but a few weeks later colicked. a few hundred dollars later and she was better. then we spent 2+ months trying to put weight on her (with $350 in feed/supplements every month) to no avail. so, then a little over a month ago i had the vet out to do just about every kind of test/exam they could on her and low and behold, she had cushings as well as roundworms and a LOT of sand in her GI tract. so...another *gulp* VERY LARGE vet bill later and she started gaining weight right away after we wormed her, power pack wormed her and started her on prascend for the cushings. and in the last month she has gained a TON of weight, the vet couldn't even believe it. i have to give a shout out to the folks over at ADM feeds who make the BEST feed products out there! but then our luck didn't last and a few days ago her eye started to swell and get cloudy so another $300 vet bill and we have no real reason as to why it acted up, but she's on meds 2 times a day and it seems to be helping.
so...its been a full time job between treating and feeding that horse, i haven't really had time to even ride my other horse. the interesting this about my other mare that we've discovered is that she is pretty much completely deaf. which is super awesome since i used pretty much all verbal commands with her, so i basically have to start from scratch to retrain her. it hasn't been the greatest year with the horses, BUT i am FINALLY getting to go to my first endurance ride the first weekend in september! i am super psyched! i'm sure my mare will probably be psycho and i'll get disqualified someway or another lol but it'll be a fun experience anyways
hopefully i can get some of this stock uploaded soon, its pretty awesome! we also have a trip planned to head to the southwest this december, so i'm very excited to get lots of good shots from that trip too
hope everyone else's summer is going great!
